I'm not sure this is a problem. often acquihires don't "loose" money (maybe on time value) - most come out even. and it can still become accretive to acquirer too, even if defensively. it's not great, but it's not bad either...

in my experience less than 10%. acquihires mostly happen around A so numbers are not big either. hard to know for sure I guess, and maybe on invested $ it skews the effect. still, not "bad" that they sell it as a win, IMHO.

I’d argue that you are losing by even focusing on other companies. Who cares? Focus on driving the success of your customers and employees. You don’t have enough time in the day to worry about other’s optics.
