Twitter is basically endlessly arguing about what we should do about [word] without ever agreeing on what the definition of [word] is

But we’re arguing 280 chars at a time with gifs, as well as quote tweets to break threads and sic your followers on someone

I've started to refuse on principle to discuss any politically-charged word with multiple definitions on twitter.

Fave example of this is people on either side of the “You need to work your ass off to be successful” debate. Seems few disagree at the atomic level, aggravation comes from wildly differing definitions of “work hard” and “success”

That is not just Twitter, but general human behaviour; few folk spend the effort to clearly articulate what their words imply, and the character restriction just adds to the tendency.
