When I talk about the durability of Silicon Valley as a center for startups, I usually forget the point that the center has already moved 30 miles north. That might mean the question isn't if it will move again...but how far.

IMO there's a major difference between moving to a place that's a short drive and moving to a place that's not. We're in the East Bay where everything is 1/2 price, but I still spend a non-trivial amount of time in SV and SF

Haha, yes indeed. I make that drive a couple times a week, "short" is only true in a relative sense, I suppose.
