I was a beta customer of a newly formed Y combinator startup and the bi-weekly pivot drove me nuts! I got the sense it was building products for building somethings sake. Such a lack of direction that their pivots ended up them forming a Logistics freight forwarding business?!?

Finding out what customers want doesn't have to be a pivot, the pivot assumes you know. Pivoting is proactive, going somewhere. Finding what customers want is reactive, discovering something. Finding out what customers want is an ego-crushing, don't-write-a-line-of-code, hard.
