Once a salesperson at a furniture store wouldn't tell me how much a dining set cost. Her rationale was that I would just take that price and shop at the store across the street. She was right about one thing, I did shop across the street.

When we bought my mom a car the walk in price on Costco auto program beat the best price we could get even after two hours of haggling complete with the classic them chasing us down in parking lot theatrics.
