If I made a company that built furniture by chopping down the trees in parks, would you agree it was exploitative?

Most likely. However wouldn’t it be just as bad if everyday people or a nonprofit were doing it? It’s the same result. So “a company is behind it” isn’t in my mind de facto exploitation

Yeah, except we have to look at who gets held accountable. A person chopping down a public tree would face a response somewhere being detained and being killed by police, depending on their identity. No corporation would have its charter revoked.
