It’s the difference between corporations exploiting shared public vs citizens making use of it.

Only if you’re willfully misreading it.
-
How else would you explain the “corporations exploiting” aspect?
-
If I made a company that built furniture by chopping down the trees in parks, would you agree it was exploitative?
-
Most likely. However wouldn’t it be just as bad if everyday people or a nonprofit were doing it? It’s the same result. So “a company is behind it” isn’t in my mind de facto exploitation
-
Yeah, except we have to look at who gets held accountable. A person chopping down a public tree would face a response somewhere being detained and being killed by police, depending on their identity. No corporation would have its charter revoked.
-
What about a nonprofit?
-
It’s just a type of corporation.

Is the implied difference that there are different rights for citizens and companies? (sincere question)
