What makes the minorities more or less intolerant than the majority other than fewer people agree? Conversely, there’s plenty of history to show majorities can be pretty intolerant.

It was exactly like that in college talking about divesting from South Africa or in grad school debating LGBT civil rights. Online brings the problem of anonymity and ability for people to say things they would not say in person.

You’re arguing against a point no one has made. No one has said minority viewpoints are bad. The point is that when huge amounts of powerful minority groups listen to everything you say and punish you if/when they think you’re wrong it becomes not worth it to share your thoughts
