How many have you sent to blockchain companies so far?
-
-
-
Will probably be 3 by next week
-
How is it that you're preparing Lambda grads for blockchain work, especially if it requires significant atleast a year or so to gain distributed systems knowledge?
-
We cover distributed systems pretty well, but certainly not a year worth. They might study up on the side but tbh I’m not quite sure
-
To be clear I’m not convinced this is rational behavior
-
What kind of work do your grads end up doing? Core distributed systems work or work tangential to it?
-
Random stuff. Not building blockhains themselves.

What is lambda school and how does it work?
-
It’s a school that invests in you instead of the other way around. We train people to be software engineers for free in exchange for a portion of their income for two years, only if they make $50k+ as a result of the training. Otherwise they never pay.
-
Do they help with finding remote jobs after completion and how flexible is training say if i have to work a normal job to pay the bills while learning?
-
No one can guarantee (or should recommend) a remote job as a first job, but we don’t have restrictions on locations. And there is a part-time/after hours course, yes
-
Yeah not expecting you to find me a job but help with that would be cool ya know anyway sounds awesome
-
We do help find and apply for jobs, but we strongly discourage working remotely as a first job as an engineer
-
Unfortunately remote is my only real option based really where i live and i really cant move elsewhere
-
Where do you live? We’ve placed people in very rural areas

I'm assuming this is total compensation and not base pay?
-
Is it 100% US cash? Or is some of it in bitcoin/other blockchain currencies?
-
USD, though I wouldn’t be surprised if the solvency of paying those salaries is dependent upon some other type of crypto asset
