Not done reading it yet, but v interesting. I grew up in Utah where homeschooling often meant borderline fundamental mormonism, otherwise i think our parents would have homeschooled. Schools were/are a complete joke.

I think the lack of social interaction for kids is also a big thing. I think mine (and many) parents could effectively educate me but how do you replicate the playground and friendship? More important IMO

I've heard there are a lot of solutions available for that, but haven't researched it deeply.

I mean, most of the social aspects of school happen outside of the classroom like you said. For me, I still did local sports, Boy Scouts, I had friends in the neighborhood, etc.
