WalMart alone sees 140 million customers per week (!) At 45 mins per customer that's 105 million hours per week people spend wandering the aisles of WalMart. So roughly 12,000 years of productivity are lost wandering the aisles of WalMart every week

feature not a bug. No windows, easy to get lost/disoriented, just like a casino

We order ours online, then go pick it up. So much better.

We go once a month now, usually to Costco, and then do Imperfect Produce twice. I kind of like the one trip. It’s still fun to wander and pick out things I didn’t know I wanted. I hate all of the packaging and the price premium of Amazon Fresh.

There is a lot of money for them in that inefficiency. I.e the whole milk and bread in the back corner concept

I wish instacart and them would release the software they use to make their pickers more efficient at finding stuff in stores so that everyone could use it

This is kind of a reductivist view on grocery shopping though. It's not just find, grab, add to cart; sometimes you're discovering new stuff. Sometimes you need that mindless time. The laundry/grocery downtime during grad school was my best for letting new material sink in.

Kroger ClickList is awesome. Order online, pick up at the store. Takes 10 mins.

I shop online weekly to have my groceries delivered. I write a list prior of what i need staples wise, then let the specials and what's in season for the week decide what's for dinner. Way more efficient, cost effective and saves me time and $

Umm, it’s not easy to shelve 30,000 products types. Seems they (major grocery stores) do a pretty good job with it.

Feed Meyer/Kroger clicklist is amazing. Best 4.99 I’ve ever spent.

I don’t wander. I go to the same grocery store every week so I know where shit is. Even so, I am dying for Amazon Fresh to make it to my city.
