Criticizing those calling for change is no different than being complicit. Fuck you Austen. Keep tweeting about bitcoin while kids are being murdered. You are so superior to everyone else.

You act like this debate doesn't affect you. Like your kids might not be the ones killed someday. your initial tweet suggests the debate is not worth having, and that it is an annoyance to you rather than something that inevitably going to break your heart one day.

You’re misinterpreting the tweet and acting like a complete douchebag. I never implied anything like that. I’m frustrated nothing changes.

Your frustration is coming across as "Its annoying to see people care about reducing gun violence. I wish they would take their grievances to another platform so I can pretend it doesn't exist." You even have a friends suggesting you "mute" certain words.

Lol I have 60k followers. I don’t control what they say. I do fervently believe that Tweeting about it will solve little.

You are insufferable right now. What have you done that I haven’t to solve the problem? Nothing. Yet you claim moral high ground. *That’s* what I find frustrating. Let’s actually do something. What? Dunno, it’s an incredibly hard problem to solve

On the other hand, if 1% of people change their minds every time (in the same direction), it still looks about like it does, but eventually public opinion shifts far enough and policy gets changed.

Perhaps the problem is that we think there is a debate. There isn't. There's a problem translating what the vast majority of Americans want into government policy.https://twitter.com/JoeNBC/status/964164792805150725 …

I actually had a few good convos with gun supporters. We all need to listen and speak to each other as it’s clear our gov’t officials have been bought by the @NRA

I bet if we unleashed Silicon Valley they’d find a way to make guns safer through tech. Much like was done for cars. Govt regs>>new tech>>safer things. Hope I didn’t just spark a gun debate in your feed 😉
