A new thesis I’m trying out: people have no sense of scale. Related to our inability to understand power laws. The difference between “Facebook has 1B users” and “FB has 10B users” doesn’t feel like much because 1B is so many, but it’s enormous. Literally *30* Twitters.

I’d say the opposite can also be true. Spending time working at Walmart in the tens and hundreds of millions has desensitized me to the how much a couple hundred thousand dollars can mean to many small companies

I think you're right. Most people understand the difference between $1000 and $10000. Likewise, I can see how billionaires lose touch with the difference between $10 and $100. I think it's about where you spend your time :)
