“College isn’t about getting a job” is the perfect angle. It turns college into something so esoteric its success is impossible to measure, and therefore it’s impossible to fail.

1/ Getting a job=/=career impact. Eliminate job training & college would return to its start as a way to reinforce the networks of the upper crust. Today college is a split between its roots and the mechanism for economic mobility that the middle class asked it to be after WWII.

@LambdaSchool and similar models are so admirable; its a more pure solution to the need for an education that can serve as a ticket to middle or upper class. Chuck the nepotism, leave only the meritorious. - 1 more reply
