From home? My son’s bedtime is ~7. With the median commute, I’d be leaving mom with morning drop off, dinner prep, pick up, and starting bedtime routines.

Yours must be older? Most everyone I know with young ones start on a 7-7 schedule or thereabouts

Ok. Back to the beginning then. You’re unusual. You can afford your spouse to stay at home and she (hopefully) finds it fulfilling. And you have a very short commute. The life you describe is not one most people have.
