Sometimes students send me curricula from their former code bootcamps. Some of these are so, so bad. Six months for literally Lambda School’s pre course work. They should be shut down.

ABET accredits virtually every professional engineering 2 and 4 year degree program in the country. It’s very old school though - quite serious about math, science fundamentals. They’d likely need to create a separate accreditation for something like this. http://www.abet.org/accreditation/

That would be awesome

In Portugal university courses must be accredited for the attributed degrees to be valid. I was involved in this process as a student in 2013. The jury is comprised of a central body for uniformity, and experts from related courses in other universities.

It’s the same in the US, but the accreditation rules are pretty insane so a lot of great courses don’t qualify
-
What happens when they don't qualify?
-
They never attempt to become accredited
-
And people apply to these degrees? How is their worth validated?
-
Degrees are generally accredited, non-accredited programs are just judged by results in getting hired
