When I look at the iPhone X tear down I can’t help but think that batteries are going to be the next electronic frontierpic.twitter.com/kx8D7ZLkk9

From what I have read there has been very little progress in developing commercially viable batteries lately. Physical limit?
I’m sure they’re up against physics. But so were/are chips. I don’t pretend to be an expert, but know very smart people working on it.
Yeah, if anything I guess that I wanted to point out it isn't from lack of trying or investment. Just a very hard problem.
Definitely
Graphite has theoretical limit for lithium capc that modern batt have hit. Silicon (or Si+C comp) w/10x limit being developed but has issues
Also, shrinking electronics is far easier (or densely pack, split and stack logic board like in iPhoneX) and rides Moore's law anyway..
It's awesome and weird that battery tech innovation is being pushed by a phone company, I guess just follow the $$$.
