To be clear: I have nothing against a well-rounded or liberal arts education. It just doesn’t make sense for it to be the only way

Would you agree that programming is a vocation?
-
is there a distinction between programmer and software engineer?
-
Probably, but now 99% of people use those words pretty much interchangeably, so they lose distinction

I had counselors tell me I was selling my Ss short. Trade school was a good fit. My friends work in the trades. Nothing wrong with it.

Or even just going to work right out of high school. Four years of work experience beats a four year liberal arts degree any day.
-
No, it does not. Liberal Arts majors hv higher annual salaries (on average) than high school grads. Can't b swapped w/ on the job experience
