Sometimes I wonder how close Theranos actually was to making something legitimate if they had any level of moral scruples. It honestly seems like they weren't far off, just unrealistic and pushed to production in a space where you can't push to production when you're not ready.

Your typical finger prick yields about 0.1-0.2 ml; Theranos was up against venipuncture at 60 ml (4 Tbsp) a draw. Even closing an order of magnitude would mean bleeding it or shooting for 5-10 pricks, which I'd think would defeat Edison's primary selling point.
