Super easy at a high speed rail station. I’ve personally purchased tickets less than 15 minutes prior to departures. Airports are different. Last minute purchases tend to draw some extra attention from security.

Have you heard of
@JetSuite SuiteDeals? Empty leg private jets trips priced as coach tickets on major airlines -
Looks like you have to book the whole flight. Is there a way to get single tickets?
-
Yes. Must sign up for suite deal notifications departing from certain cities you preselected and you will he made aware of when a single seat opens on a flight departs from one of your specified cities.

I have gone to the airport and just looked online, bought a ticket and flew out within an hour. Turns out it was cheaper that way.

No. Also Buddy Pass style travel isn’t available. Previous disruptors aren’t really valid anymore. Travel agencies adapted. Ecomm for flights is all in advance. Last minute fares same day- prices are super high. They should be negotiable.

Easy if you got a strong passport , screwed if you need visas for most countries

So kind of? I mean you could probably speak to a gate agent and ask what it would cost. Personally, my favorite apps/websites for keeping costs low (especially last minute) are:
@Hotwire,@Skyscanner and@KAYAK. I find that Hotwire has the better prices. Hope this helps! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
