Because the network effects are higher than the costs right now. Five years ago we would have had 40+ employees in the Bay Area right now, some of which are non-technical. Today we have 5. All technical, all highly paid.

I'm curious why you don't outsource the technical employees and keep a non-technical presence in the Bay Area (makes sense for your business model) for the network effects. That's what I am doing at least. I can hire 3-4 for everyone I'd hire in California.
