(Not to mention the ~80 people spending 30 hours/week reviewing student work and curriculum)

Just curious, would you say Lambda School's growth is currently constrained by demand or supply?
-
Then what is stopping you from doubling enrollment tomorrow?
-
Ie. Supply if I'm not wrong? If you had more hands = more time = more students that you can cater to?
-
Both are growing very quickly. Will just take time, doesn’t happen overnight
-
I completely agree. Just wanted to understand the third dimension of time that you introduced

You mentioned recently that you're adding significantly to ur sales force. I'm not a salesman & I know it's a weird (maybe annoying) Q but I'm really curious who & how ur org hires for this kind of sales. Your whole sales approach really. Who is an ideal (realistic) salesperson?
-
See, even that answer fascinates me. Lol. Thanks for tolerating.

How do you collect iterative feedback to make sure the stuff you're teaching is top-notch (no self bias) and the students are actually grasping it well?
-
Advisory councils of hiring managers and industry partners who review curriculum 4x/yr with our program leads. Instructors stay sharp in industry skills by going to conferences and with our continuing ed stipend. In future, teachers will take rotations on live projects too.
-
Sounds intense. But that validates just the curriculum from one end right? How do you gauge if the students are grasping concepts? Are the assessments/project submissions a good signal in itself? Or do you'll do qualitative/quantitative student feedback after every tutorial?
-
Daily projects get code review. But biggest is the weekly Sprint Challenges that encompass the week’s learning. If students nail it they move on, if they need more support they roll back and repeat the content until they can show competency.

Thanks Caleb' - that definitely puts the rigour in the curriculum. More power to you guys

-
Appreciate it. Love high standards, but I don’t like the word rigor. Learning shouldn’t be this:pic.twitter.com/iOvERSo1LO

Oh damn! My bad, I meant it more like an onus+hardwork

Idea for
@LambdaSchool, staggered/overlapping semesters. Students get mentorship from the class a half-semester ahead and provide mentorship to the class a half-semester behind. -
We start classes every 5 weeks. We’ve got peer mentorship. We ran a trial of this called Feynman Hour. Needed some tweaks but will be back early next year.
-
Y'all are smart
-
Been around the block once or twice and love what we do. When it’s all about the students it makes it easy to do what’s best, even if it’s more effort or money.
