"OK so this proposition authorizes $8.877 billion in general obligation bonds for water infrastructure. Is that a good idea?" "I really don't know why they're trusting me to make this decision"

Terrible UI design. Way too many choices to make, overwhelms people.
-
It’s bigger than UI. Technocrats appointed by politicians elected by citizens should be making these decisions.
-
You mean unelected bureaucrats. California should try that.
-
Elections don’t scale to all government positions. With our vote we vest the choice with politicians. California’s mistake has been electing politicians who see bigger gov as better gov. That does not negate my point.
-
Fair enough. I don’t vote anyway. Cause then I am not complicit in the vesting of my decisions to someone else. And I am also scared of Russians making decisions for me. So best just to abstain.

Yeah, but I feel like I really nailed that crucial daylight savings vote.

We found the analysis from
@sfchronicle@latimes@EastBayTimes available online very useful on statewide ballot measures. Just tune out the TV ads and mailers. The part about confirming Judges is really the hardest. Local city council decisions were the easiestThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Here in Michigan they had an omnibus voting reform proposal (in-person registration, automatic registration w/driver's license, absentee voting for all, reinstating straight-ticket voting that was removed last year).
-
What if I wanted some but not all of those? I should be able to vote for one without having to give consent for the others. In Oklahoma I think, they had a constitutional requirement of one policy, one proposal. There, Prop 2 wouldn't have been allowed on the ballot.

Yeah I was constantly thinking that if I hdn't received the level of education or researched as much as I had I would not have known what to half of the stuff was and then I realized most people don't have good education or are college educated and then

do you think if we voted more often, let's say like in switzerland, the average voter would have a better grasp of things?

Quadratic voting could be really interesting here. Give people a set number of votes that they can use to amplify their voice on any issue they care about and are informed on.
