It’s going to take an all-out blitz from our whole team to make it happen: career coaches, outcomes, partnerships/hiring outreach, instructors, and more. Oh and we have to do it while still hitting growth targets. It’s gonna be fun.

A colleague sent me this tweet. Back in about 2014-2017 the whole bootcamp industry was claiming 90/90/90 (90% placed in 90 days at an average of 90k salary). Of course, the validity was unproven but some pretty reputable bootcamps were making the claim and it became a standard.
-
Did DevMountain hit those numbers? (Not including PMs/TAs)
-
No. Although we had high placement rate, we could of never made that claim. Our average salary coming out of the program always hovered between $50-60k. Mainly because of the smaller markets we served and operated in (Utah, Arizona, Texas not Sf or Ny).
-
What about % placed?

Ah this reminds me I heard of a UK code academy you prob know of, but sounds similar to Lambda. Mayden Academy says every grad so far has gotten a job within 90 days (idk # grads), £8k, 3mo, no upfront, income share agreement (first I've seen except you!).https://mayden.academy
-
Sorry, the full stack course is 4 months for £8k. Not sure how many past cohorts either but interesting that they've found an ISA partner, EdAid. I was very surprised to hear you managed that... looks like it's at least possible now.

8 students, average $23k incomepic.twitter.com/DZsOLE85AN

"Mayden Academy is offered by Mayden, a fast-growing software development company" so looks like they hire some students
-
Ah I see, that's different and more early stage. Well, very good on them for going for it and organising an academy as a sw house. I think the market demand for SWE is seriously underserved so plenty of space at least for the next few years.

Not true.
@j3 and@turingschool at one point regularly did this and if not hired within 90 days gave a *100% money back guarantee*. Now THATS ambitious. -
I respect it, for sure. 90 in 90 is hard as hell. We’re at 45% in 45, closing in on 60% in 60 next. Here are the big, ambitious goals I wrote at the beginning of this year:https://github.com/turingschool/outcomes/blob/master/achievements/2018-year-end.markdown …

I’ll be one of those 90% in 90 students

This is key. The point of reskilling for a new career through school/bootcamp is to get into that new career quickly. If you can’t find a new job ASAP, the cost (mental and financial) of having left your previous job skyrockets.
