We’re basically at the point where probably 90% of computer users could use an iPad Pro instead of a desktop or laptop. The line between “mobile” and “laptop” is kind of disappearing

I guess I’ve never used mobile excel much, so some financial modeling could potentially be nasty, but there’s no physical limitations so far as I can tell, just potential software ones

I tried this last year and no superhuman + split screen is much more fiddly than you think makes it tough

Would be great to see an iPad/tablet that can go into 'laptop mode' for uses such as coding, using specialist software or use cases that require a mouse and keyboard (certain games for example)

I got a Surface Book a couple of weeks ago. It’s a dream of a machine and switching between tablet and laptop is super easy.

Agreed, I do the same. I use a laptop maybe twice a month. iPad is perfect.

As a relatively newly-minted manager, I've been equal parts pleased and horrified by how much I can get done from my phone, on my commute or at the pub

I had the same realization today. Just bought the new iPad Pro! Excited to see if I can make a more efficient workflow, especially for video editing.

We used to say graphical programming wouldn't take off but between Scratch, AI/ML, Transform pipelines and always avail server processing the Star Trek touch screen future is much closer for a lot of business problems. Not a big leap from apply filter to apply chain for most.

If you're managing most of the time, you won't need applications and code editors. However, 90% of people at a workplace aren't managers.

I find creating (not using) complicated spreadsheets and presentations much easier on a desktop/laptop but that’s really it. And some of that is a function of screen size and better keyboard. But I use my iPad 95% of the time.

Missing a mouse, that the biggest issue for me
