The fundamentals of Lambda School are working. Now we begin really optimizing. Soon we’ll be hiring: * Salespeople (A lot - to build out the world’s best hiring network) * Data Scientists (to predict success/correct failure earlier) * Engineers * Career Coaches (still more)

Curious: Can you share data on approximately how many candidates you reject % wise)? Just wondering what the numbers look like
Also, heard the other day that someone I pointed to you got accepted and I was ecstatic for her! -
We accept around 5% of applicants right now
-
Why such a small percentage?
-
We invest a hell of a lot of money into each student. Only have so much to invest.
-
Then why increase leads? Why not expand to serve other 95%?
-
Reread your original tweet, expanding employer sales. Got it!

Which students will populate your new sales force?
-
Won't you be hiring salespeople from your alumnus pool? Kind of a joke question because (like any school) you probably don't have a "sales" curriculum but then I thought you might have an interesting answer.
-
No, we won’t be. Our grads can get paid way more as engineers :)
-
That's great if true. If you don't hire alumni for sales and none of them complain about that, I'd say that's a pretty good endorsement.
