Regardless of how you feel about the politics, Benioff peddling Stripe as having “made” $20 billion (their most recent valuation) to people who don’t understand the difference is the most disingenuous thing he could dohttps://twitter.com/SamTLevin/status/1052579535374274560 …

Isn't this also an argument for the trump tax cuts? :)

All of these topics are complex. Hard to say what is a pro tax-cut vs pro Trumps tax cuts on Twitter. Overall I personally believe we should be focused on non-damaging tax increases to support social programs. Tax net revenue. Tax profit. Tax local spending. All of these work.

As founder of
@square,@jack specifically campaigned for and won a switch to the gross receipts tax. Sf tech industry incl fintech literally came up with the idea and felt it most favorable.https://www.sfgate.com/business/article/SF-Citi-video-plugs-in-tech-Prop-E-3930793.php … -

He never complained about fairness. Even with smaller tax an supposed unfairness issue would arise as revenue scales. Never said anything then.

Thousands? I believe it ONLY applies to companies with OVER $50 Million gross receipts, and then the tax ONLY applies to sales WITHIN SF. I'd be surprised if the tax even affects "hundreds" of SF companies. Hyperbole and hysteria are not good looks when discussing public policy.
