Foundations aren't subject to huge disclosures. And all they are is holding companies that meet requirements for tax-exempt use, and that's not hard.

Oh, and speaking of cans, and worms, sometimes C-level execs use foundations to hide insider sales because if I recall correctly the disclosure requirements are different.
