I’m not saying everything is perfect. I’m responding to the people saying x is an existential threat that will break democracy and it’s all over.

Because I think it’s important to that small setbacks shouldn’t destroy our hope (and the likelihood of) a better future, and I’m watching the reverse happen

I'm 1/2 hispanc, but look white. I believe I fall into the "underprivileged" group, but i agree with Austen. I don't how so many believe it's helpful to say "you are underprivileged" and believe that's empathy. NO, you are telling people that they don't have power to fix it.

If i looked more "hispanic" and believed the rhetoric I often wonder whether these well intentioned people would have basically ruined my life by convincing me I was "under privileged".
