I mean... the two aren’t zero sum. Public criticism applying a moral lens to its operations helped create this better outcome for hundreds of thousands of people, and that’s a good thing (not “mailing a check” or some bad decision that drives prices up)
Yeah, exactly. Why can’t both be true at the same time? The fact is Amazon pays ludicrous small taxes in some countries, and I mean low as in unjust society low. AND Amazon also provides a lot of value with their service. Such view holds true in the US just as well as in Europe
Why does it have to be an either or proposition, like a zero sum? Why couldn’t they pay a fair amount of tax and still drive prices down? What @Amazon is doing may be legal but is it ethically responsible when they’re own staff are having their incomes top up by government
