I lived in eastern Ukraine after the fall of the soviet union, and it was insane there but at least people made an attempt at being rational

It’s great to know what NIMBYs are trying to preserve (with mistaken tactics IMO). Jane Jacobs’ book is another good one, cites North Beach a bunch. I’d love to know of a counterpoint book to read, too! Mostly I read more academic works like from
