The stereotype of the “clueless VC” went away as the last tech cycle ended, as best practices for how to do mobile and web internet became common sense. As the next cycle starts, the stereotype will return..?

IMO Finance-driven companies are popping up more now because capital is cheap and available and you can afford to be wrong while you figure things out. Not sure that was true in 2008. It’s interesting how many fintech cos started in 2011-2012. Avant, Sofi, Common Bond, LendUp
