Lambda School’s experiment 3 is officially underway. We’ve selected and are paying 10 people $1,000/month to enable them to attend Lambda School. They’ll pay it back in the form of additional time on an income share agreement if they get a software job paying $50k+.
Depends on where you’re at. $50k is a solid junior engineering salary in a lot of the United States

The jobs are solidly West/East Coasts though. Middle/Flyover America are not in need of developers. The Coasts demand higher wages, but the competition is tough - We have over 40K H-1B's in MA, no graduate would stand a chance unfortunately. Balance Sheet > Altruism unfortunately
-
That is fundamentally untrue
-
In the past 30 days we’ve had 20+ students hired in middle America
-
Which is fantastic for them. Figure a way to replace the 3 million
#H1B's w/legislation for more. I support what your're doing. I would love Americans to have all those jobs, and reduce the H-1B and offshoring of jobs for the benefit of our fellow Americans -
I don’t believe it’s a zero sum game
-
I don't look at it as a game at all. I've seen families in ruin because the bread winner was fired over the
#H1B. Please don't mistake where my loyalties are.
