It would have not been at all without Joe Rogan.

He guided the conversation and got musk to open up.

Nah. Joe is inquisitive and curious. Most interviewers ask unimaginative questions

I think for nontechnical, everyday people, we need a joe rogan to say the “I’m not smart enough for this conversation”

Horrible take. Joe Rogan is the exact counter balance you need with an Elon Musk.

joe was perfect.

Joe’s normally very good, you could just sense he was a little thrown off. Joe couldn’t get into a rhythm.

Elon has slow, deliberate answers and Joe is a turbo Diesel engine just ready for somebody to put the pedal to the floor. It was oil and water.

On this I can’t agree Austen. Joe did a fantastic job easing Elon out of the reality he faces everyday. Joe gave him a safe place to expand his consciousness. Love them both. Great contribution to society from my vantage point.

This is a strange point of view, given that the entire point was for Elon to connect with Rogan’s audience. So there would not be a podcast without Joe Rogan.

I'd definitely listen to at least the first episode if Elon started a podcast where it was just him thinking out loud while drinking whiskey and smoking pot.

This was definitely one of Joe’s poorest performances. I think he must have gotten a bit too stoned before shooting.

Put weird and interesting people in a room for 4 hours with a microphone for when they are ready to speak. Man that would be a rad podcast

Agreed, it felt like Rogan was talking too much/would speak to fill the silence instead of letting Musk think and answer

A bit childish to chide Joe for landing Elon. Instead, offer feedback? I like Joe’s approach to humanize Elon but he did fall short in empathizing. Elon seemed detached many times, his brilliance the classic gift/curse.

You probably would have gotten more of what you expected to see if so. Which might be uniquely negative bc of how much Musk is already covered in pop culture and silicon valley pop culture.
