Often, professors can move as fast as they want individually. To pin the problem on accreditation is to blame shift.

Okay, big secret, and I won't describe it totally, but my hiring strategy out of not-top-tier-universities is 100% looking for talented people who seem kinda depressed.

I’m intrigued

Reference chains are better (who's the smartest person you know?), but if there's a common theme of feeling underwhelmed & like classmates/teachers don't really care, etc, then they're probably the kind of person that wants to work hard on big problems and distinguish themselves.

This sounds like me before I got into crypto. Give someone like me a playground and an objective then say "go", magic will come!

We don't share the same passion, but if you've found something that brings magic into your life, I'm super pumped for you.

Genuine question: Without accreditation how can someone judge the difference between a Phoenix University vs a Lambda School
-
Short term, outcome during interview process. Longer term, outcomes of alumni, judged by both notable alumni and on platforms like linkedin. Think people overestimate how much signal there is in university degrees already, and the signal to noise ratio is only going to go down

I used to feel like I’m wasting away at college. I started sitting on the last bench building mobile apps on my laptop. It came out to be the single best decisions of my life.

University isn't supposed to be a "job ticket", it's there for learning, pursuit of knowledge and all that.

What do you mean forced to move? As in the pace of study?

Most everything I learned about my current work I've picked up by watching YouTube tutorials and just spending enough time doing things myself. That isn't to say I didn't learn things in school, but some things need practical experience more than a degree.

Every time I talk with someone at a fake school I feel awful about how narrow their education is. It's like rather than learning lifelong citizen and career skills, they've trained just around things job-useful for the next 5 years.

Perhaps you already do, but does
@LambdaSchool offer business writing/communication as part of your programs? I guess the bigger question I’m getting at is, do you plan on adding some classic liberal arts type classes? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Heard about someone recently who had half a million dollars in student loans. Didn’t even know that was a thing.
