Hiring company last week: “OK we’ll interview him but he doesn’t have experience with our core stack and we’re really looking for someone with a degree” Same company today: “Hey we’re looking to hire four more roles, can you please send us more candidates like that?”

Also happening for (I believe) the first time today: A Lambda School alum who has already gone senior interviewing a recent Lambda School alum for a job.

Y’all doing anything with remote devs? Looks like FT focused but lots of people of today / tomorrow are looking to learn CS for the freedom/power/flex you earn. Remote is ideal for that. Lambda School > Work 20-25h/week remote on Turtle could be kewl 😎

And folks are getting hired remote? That part was never clear to me from your messaging (or your tweets). My bad if I should just dig deeper. And LMK if I’m not mistaken and you’re interested in 100% remote hiring partners (like Turtle).

What % of your candidates’ superior competence is about your pedagogical methods vs. about their initial drive/aptitude from your selection process?

I really hope this bias of "needs a degree" goes away. I understand the purpose and filter it creates, but more often than not, it creates a barrier to entry for well, able -bodied, -minded individuals.
