People generally underestimate two things 1. How hard it is to get your foot in the door as an outsider. I lived in a car for months in Palo Alto with no prospects, connections or money to break into Silicon Valley 2. How wide doors are open once you’re on the inside and hustle

I want to hear this story in more detail. The story would probably help you sell Lambda school too!
-
I think I’m going to package it up in a talk to share with the studenfs
-
Sure, if you need someone to look over the story, let me know. I am sure I can ask you (polite) questions to elicit more details. But, yeah, your particular journey would be a massive selling point and motivator: " had to do it the hard way so I can give you an easier chance".

What I was thinking of was packaging the story in a similar narrative style to which Kevin Hong packaged his story of building out his business with his partner while living in a van: http://www.outlierapproach.com/learned-living-working-van-published-business-collective/ … It would be a great promotional tool!
-
Building the narrative like (1) This was my mission, (2) These were the problems I had to solve (3) This is how I solved each problem, (4) I am here to help you all today (5) I will solve problems that come up (housing, etc) with the same determination; this is my new mission.

See your point. However, if you work hard and get your resume out ok nli e. It's easy to at least get an internship. If cash is short during this time, its 2018 there are too many easy ways to make money. Lyft. Uber. Door dash. Turbo. Post mates. Etc.
