Education is kind of like fashion in that it says a lot about who we are — or who we want to be. Especially in a country like the US where you are what you do. I think that’s why people can be kind of irrational about it.

I think that's the case for any cultural norm or long-standing belief system. Politics are another example. Way too many people acting irrationally to preserve their point of view in spite of evidence.

On a different note, I'm building and selling an education product and persuading people to invest into their future is proving to be harder than anticipated. I'm learning a lot about marketing and ethical persuasion though
