Trying to figure out how to be radically transparent with Lambda School's hiring statistics. Percentages and averages are a good start, but they mask the nuance. Might just publish a huge anonymized file of data along with the standard details.

Why not just publish them like @dyang does with @fullstack ?

We're going to publish outcomes, of course, but only reporting percentages and average salary is only a small part of the story

yeah but it's the part of the story that convinces people to join up, no? 😀

Excited to see what you come up with @AustenAllred - I recommend using CIRR as a baseline and expanding from there - would be open to chatting to discuss ideas on increasing transparency (thanks for the shoutout @zachcaceres)

A good statistic to reflect real difference you make might be to show anonymized deltas in incomes for the subset of students with jobs prior to Lambda

more valuable than hiring stats: long-term performance. keep tabs on your graduates after the fact.

Please be careful about publishing personal data. It’s not hard to deanonymize a dataset, by cross-correlating datapoints with other datasets.

I agree There are first order skills like logic, math, reading skills, & most of all an ability to focus like a monk (that's a biggie). In an attention economy where most people are basically distracted all the time, that presents certain challenges. Meditation helped me greatly.

Yeah, recommend just publishing the data, and then people can be creative and figure out how to describe it.

Before and after comp, as well as comp 4 (and 10!) years post graduation. It may be hard to release enough relevant data without enable people to triangle in on specific individuals.

I think in addition to hiring stats there is a large opportunity to do before and after compare contrast data (you might already do this?) Meaning when a student starts survey them on a few things namely: financial security and stability, skills inventory, future outlook

Then do same upon hiring. I'm sure you already do this in some form but would be cool to see. Illustrate people climbing the rung of a ladder to the next level
