Why not just click on the unsubscribe button? 15 seconds of work now to save 0.5 seconds once a week for the rest of your life.

Presumably this catches all those automatic optin newsletters and product info stuff that happens when you try out a new service. These unnecessarily clutter the inbox when you're trying to focus on work. Archiving would let you unsubscribe at leisure. Out of sight, out of mind.
