I think a big part of the priblem is that they couldn't figure out cell phones. And that was ridiculous, given how many Office users would have transferred in the early days. The failure to lock that down cost them billions. They had an edge and blew it...repeatedly.
Been a great growth story. IMO, Microsoft doing a better job at being Apple than Apple.

I think @github acquisition is just about to show its value. There is a big advantage on knowing programming patterns by developers. The psychological fingerprinting on each commit is huge.

For over 10 years, MSFT never went above $36, and then only briefly in late 2007. For most of the decade, it stayed between $28 and $22. That's flatlining in my opinion.
