This is something I misunderstood for a long time. The value of SF isn’t finding 100 people who can write Python. I have to call BS on that. Seattle has an amazing software community. Amazon and Microsoft are both here with very talented people. They just won't move their families into a 1 bedroom apartment in Oakland. You have to open an office here to attract them.

I know what you mean and it's real. It's a lot of things, time zones, different industries, different outlook. But finance does make a difference and all three of those places are much, much bigger in finance than SF.
