That’s so weird I just went through the replies and saw maybe one person noting that it’s a sign of privilege to be able to tune out politics. Is that what you meant?

I literally have DMs saying I’m just like the Nazis in the 1940s that watched Hitler come to power and didn’t fight back because they secretly didn’t like Jews (because apparently not following politics on Twitter means you love Trump?)
-
I would be shocked if you have 20 DMs actually calling you racist over saying you’re exhausted by politics on twitter — a pretty safe popular “unpopular opinion” in my book — and find the complaining about political tweets performative and unproductive. But that is just me!
-
I don’t even think it’s an unpopular opinion

Everyone is entitled to piece of mind. So if someone only wants to use twitter for technology signaling, that is their prerogative. But the one thing I don't understand is if you follow people you respect, why wouldn't you also be willing to listen to their political thoughts?
-
Because I use twitter for tech, and I don’t care about what VCs think about politics
