I’ve seen people take jobs that pay $40k less because they have insurance, when you can get that same insurance for $500/month. Psychological barriers are real and not always rational.

Not comparable to a decent employer plan (at the level if you’re making enough to take a $40k pay cut and still survive)
-
That kind of employer sponsored plan would run you at least $1200-1500 on the open market w $500 ded & $2250 max out of pocket single covg.
-
That’s $3,333/month of insurance
-
I understand it’s still a better deal to take the extra 40k & buy the insurance yourself
Just pointing out the costs. Have a great day! -
I’ve lost 3 plans in 4 yrs. Had to re-shop. I’ve also helped my guy shop similar insurance for employees. Costs have become staggering.
-
It’s not just about the cost. You often can’t get into good health care networks with individual insurance. ACA plans not accepted.
-
Well, I’ve used my insurance guy to help me find plans. I have NEVER EVER considered ACA as an option. Have u used an insurance broker?
