Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk do a ton of objectively bad stuff, but I just want to be clear that the mere act of holding onto that much money in a world with this much inequality is in itself a brutally evil action, and alone makes them bad people.

There is a difference between money and wealth, Natural resources are not the only resources that go into creating wealth: time, labor, creativity, etc.

Even if all of those billions were liquid and sitting in a bank the value of the paper bills is not tied to the existence of natural resources directly. Humanity is objectively becoming wealthier on average.

When people purchase anything they do it because they believe that the exchange will make them better off. Or else they wouldn’t do it. Any person that creates a good or service must create something that others feel is more valuable than the money they pay for it.
