Hey friends. I have a question for you. If you were to hire a @LambdaSchool graduate would you care more about the candidate if they knew MySQL or MongoDB? Obviously we have confidence all our graduates could learn one or the other on the job, BUT if you _had_ to choose?

My (perhaps contentious) point is that there isn't as much conceptual understanding that goes into a document DB as there is a relational D - though there are perhaps more performance considerations.

Hey Austen, I'm a big fan (since the
@Jason podcast). Daniel hit the nail on the head: "Conceptual understanding of relational DBs" is a good start. What I've typically looked for is computer science fundamentals that make someone a good apprentice (or pair) for their first jobThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
