Slate Star Codex is one of the most thoughtful places on the Internet.
Linked to by over 3 million sites, an untold number of fans, and all for free by an anonymous author.
And a journalist wants to expose it for no particular reason; nothing more than a few clicks.

Taylor’s principal purpose as a journalist seems to be to harm people she dislikes. It parallels the broader direction of journalism as activism, one reason it’s become such a destructive force in the world.

Just to add fuel to this fire, I was already looking for a reason to cancel my NYT subscription. They *really* don't want you to do that. It's an obvious dark pattern. It took me over 20 minutes of waiting around waiting to cancel. Not awesome.

i found that it was easier to call my CC company and cancel my credit card, and get a new one, than to cancel my NYT subscription

This is terrible. Why are journalists like this? I have to assume they deliberately wanted to destroy it, maybe because it interferes with their desire to mislead the public.
