Reading the abstract looks like money leads to more life satisfaction (how satisfied are you with your life overall) but not significantly more happiness (roughly the average of asking "how happy are you right now")

Also the study was done on people in Scandinavia, which is really an unfair comparison to the rest of us wretched souls. Denmark, Sweden's neighbor, has the happiest people on Earth. Sweden is not much worse off. Take happy people, give them money, works out great.

"Lottery winners were more satisfied with their life than lottery losers" I wonder how either group compares in "life satisfaction" to people who don't play the lottery at all.

Never needed a study to tell me money brings happiness. “It’s not money, it’s the freedom/options it gives you” So yeah, money brings happiness

I read a book a few years back called Money For Nothing. It is about the business of buying lottery annuities from winners. Interesting and light reading.
