To be fair, many silly vocational licensing requirements don’t originate with gov’t. They’re often conceived by industry leaders themselves to reduce competition by increasing barriers to entry.

Makes sense: many people get their hair shampooed at a salon several times a year— but when was the last time you needed an EMT?

Code is nuanced AF. Someone needs to run AF camps.

A hairdresser needs 1500 hours. Most boot camps leave people with exactly “the foggiest.” More hours needed there is my point.
