My heart is bursting. On the eve of my first child's birth, my dad - who's been in prison nearly my entire life - was granted clemency. He never intended harm, yet his crime devastated many families. My heart breaks for the families that can never get their loved ones back.
/partly genetic unless and until proven otherwise. That's not to say that people deserve to be *blamed* for the specific flaws of their parents, merely that we should expect them, on average, to *have* similar flaws even after controlling for upbringing.

“should” What kind of research is able to factor in untold childhood experiences, and then the effects those myriad experiences have on individuals with their own individual temperaments being raised by parent(s) with their own childhood experiences and temperaments, etc.?
